Pain & Sports Medicine

The West Coast Centre for Regenerative Medicine is dedicated to exploring innovative regenerative medicine techniques to tackle chronic pain. This approach often involves using the body's own healing mechanisms to repair damaged tissues or alleviate pain, potentially reducing the reliance on pain medications or surgeries. Treatments may include stem cell therapy, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections, and other advanced techniques aimed at promoting healing and improving quality of life for patients suffering from chronic pain conditions

Some Integrated Conditions

  • Migraines

  • Hip, shoulder, neck, and back pain

  • Sports Injuries

  • Arthrites

  • Hipermobility

  • Ligament sprains

  • Muscle/tendon strains

  • Neuromas (including Morton’s neuroma)

Prolozone

Regenerative Injection Therapy

Prolozone is a regenerative injection therapy that uses vitamins, ozone, and oxygen to stimulate healing in tendons, ligaments, and cartilage. Prolozone is also known as prolotherapy with ozone or proliferative injections therapy with the use of medical ozone.

High Concentrate Platelet-Rich Plasma Gel

hcPRP Gel

The West Coast Center for Regenerative Medicine is proud to offer an innovative form of platelet-rich plasma, called hcPRP Gel. hcPRP Gel is an autologous high-concentration Platelet-Rich Plasma  (hcPRP) derived from the patient’s own blood. This hcPRP preparation is infused into an autologous gel to create a viscous liquid that will keep activated platelets and growth factors in contact with degenerated surfaces for extended periods of time.

With the use of a special centrifuge, cells with CD34 markers are able to be harvested and kept separate while the hcPRP is created. Calcium chloride, vitamin C, ozone, and oxygen are then added to the hcPRP.

The plasma that remains is often discarded because it is considered to be poor in platelets. However, recent research has found that the platelet-poor fraction is rich in a protein called Alpha-2 Macroglobulin. Alpha-2 Macroglobulin is not only a mediator of inflammation but also has the ability to carry numerous growth factors and cytokines, such as platelet-derived growth factor, basic fibroblast growth factor, TGF-β, insulin, and IL-1β which can contribute to a therapeutic effect.

In the preparation of hcPRP Gel, this platelet-poor fraction is harvested and then heated at a specific temperature to create a denatured protein gel while keeping the Alpha-2 Macroglobulin intact.

The activated, ozonated, and oxygenated hcPRP with vitamin C is then carefully added to the plasma gel to create a smooth, viscous gel. The CD34 cells are then carefully impregnated into the gel just prior to injection to provide an optimal regenerative effect.
